Hadley is currently in recovery. It turns out that she is too small for them to do surgery via the heart cath. Her heart and blood vessels are so small, if they had proceeded to do the surgery with those instruments, it would have damaged other parts of her heart and required an additional surgery to correct. Since that was obviously not a feasible option, they have rescheduled surgery for Monday. On Monday, they will go in through her rib cage and tie off the artery. It is not open heart surgery, but it is not laparoscopic surgery either. A benefit to the type of surgery they’re doing on Monday is that she won’t have the metal device in her heart that they were trying to implant today to block off the PDA, so there will be no risk of anything shifting afterwards which could cause a blockage requiring emergency surgery. Please keep her in your prayers as she has surgery on Monday..
